Zero black-hole cave-in. Fits my compact impact, drill, and hand tools.
My biggest pet peeve with soft bags is the second you unzip them, both walls cave straight inward and bury everything in one tangled pile of metal at the bottom. This steel wire-frame top pops open like an old-school doctor's bag and stays wide open on my tailgate. All my insulated screwdrivers and Klein strippers sit upright in the side slots so I stopped stabbing under my fingernails reaching blind. Sixteen inches is the exact sweet spot for service calls without turning into a 60-lb boat anchor.
